Where is Neesvig's Facility?

Neesvigs is conveniently located just off the exit of Interstates 90 / 94 for direct access to Chicago, Minneapolis / St. Paul, Milwaukee and Madison.  We are only 5 miles North of Madison and the Dane County Regional Airport.  Neesvigs also has daily pickup from both UPS and FedEx which have local hubs within a few miles.  We have business relationships with 3 cold storage facilities within Madison that offer daily rail service as well as refrigerated rail docks. 

What are Neesvigs Capabilities?

We operate in three local facilities with a combined total of over seventy-thousand square feet of available space. One of our lots can accommodate twenty tractor trailers. All locations have a ceiling height of over twenty-five feet. Our combined cold storage slots exceed ten-thousand with the added advantage of efficient space optimization that reduces handling and increases inventory turns. Our in-house transport company makes daily pick-ups and product transfers between facilities, saving shipping costs. All of Neesvig’s core fulfillment business utilizes conveyors and flow racks. This enables easy item selection from master cases while assuring accuracy and efficiency since all items are picked as units.

What does your storage capacity mean to my business? 

As noted above, we have over ten-thousand pallet spaces available. Neesvig’s works with all size customers and create space and staff based on their needs.  Neesvigs philosophy towards space and staffing needs has allowed us to keep overhead costs to a minimum, which in turn gives our customers a very favorable fulfillment cost.  Neesvigs order fulfillment systems allow us to share space and equipment for many customers.  Neesvig’s will store all back stock items either on or off-site, while maintaining product picking slots for daily order fulfillment.  This keeps the space requirements simplified to only new pick facings within our fulfillment space to allow large order volume in limited floor space. Then all companies picked orders are transferred into our drop ship area for QA and final packing.  The integration of all companies’ orders into one master order fulfillment space is the key to keeping our costs in line.  Our space saving strategy means that no matter what the size of the customer, the only new space necessary is the new pick facings.

How does your staffing level address my business requirements?

We conform our staff levels to our customer’s expected volume by being mindful that each customer’s unique business cycles dictate a unique staffing solution.   

What other Value Added Services does Neesvig's Provide?

Neesvig’s whole business philosophy is based on “Value Added Service”.

  • We work with many customers to pack, repack and co-pack products, as well as re-labeling or specialty packing a large variety of items. 
  • Neesvig’s is a USDA facility with an outstanding reputation for high quality goods and services as well as an extremely clean processing and warehouse facility. 
  • Neesvigs also will provide returns processing, carrier claims processing, carrier package tracking, and shipment confirmation.

Do you provide package insert, gift boxing, gift card services?

Neesvigs will follow any special instructions requested with each order including inserting package inserts or preprinted gift cards and some forms of gift boxing. 

Do you have shrink wrap systems?

Neesvigs has three shrink wrap tunnels capable of sealing all sizes of Styrofoam shimming containers. Between them these machines can process as many as sixty-thousand coolers per day!

Do you offer private labeling or custom packaging? 

Yes, Neesvig’s can offer both private labeling and custom packaging. 

List the type of products you store and handle. 

  Neesvig’s main product lines are all food products.  The majority of our products are stored both frozen and refrigerated, with a small percentage of dry storage.  We have 3 outside storage facilities that we work with, that are within 15 minutes of our plant and each of them offer all forms of storage, frozen, refrigerated and dry.

What warehouse management systems are you currently utilizing? 

     We have an application for Direct Ship/ Parcel Order Fulfillment called MOS.  The process applications included with this custom system are listed below:

o       Takes order files from our clients and imports them into application

o       Carrier determination is derived from established business rules

o       Dry ice and cooler size determination is derived from established business rules

o       Releasing orders to floor for fulfillment (Wave Planning)

o       Pick List Creation – Demand reporting for total volume and advance planning.

o       Ship complete step with weight verification.

o       Interface with Kewill Clippership for carrier compliant labeling and rating.

o       Produces confirmation and billing files for client.

o       Reporting.

What type of management reports are you capable of generating?

  A wide variety of canned reports are available in MOS including shipping reports, billing reports, daily status report, inventory demand reports and sales reports.  In addition, ad-hoc reports are easy to create for custom reporting. 

 

What systems do you have to receive client’s orders?

  In our MOS system today, client orders are received via an FTP processor, e-mail or we also receive orders through a third party customer website interface.  Neesvig’s is extremely flexible and can work with many systems. 

How do you report shipping confirmations to the client?

  A flat file is sent by our Mail Order System to our Client at the end of the shipping day.

Please describe your ability to respond to peak demand periods. 

    Neesvig’s Fulfillment Services have been in operation for over 25 years servicing large and small mail-order catalog and internet customers.  These customers rely on the seasonality of their business for a large part of their sales. This creates a peak around the holidays.  Neesvig’s has repeatedly met this peak demand from our customers by maintaining a quality full and part-time staff with the ability to supplement additional labor from our local contracted temporary labor agencies.  We are proud of our skills, systems, and knowledge that are all dedicated to meeting and exceeding our customer’s needs.
